The right coach makes all the difference.

This might be your first time looking for a coach, so I’d recommend you read this Ed Batista’s article. It will give you a keen insight into what to look for in a coach and how to make the right decision when selecting one. It will also be a great starting point for our first conversation.

Working with me.

To be a great leader in this moment, one needs to cultivate alignment between the inner and outer self without sacrificing one for the other. When the waters get choppy, the skill of surfing the waves of uncertainty with a steady hand and clear mind while remaining anchored in what really matters is key.

That’s where I come in. We’ll achieve real tangible results together, and along the way we’ll cultivate your natural born strengths while keying in on the things holding you back - some of which you may not yet be aware of.

By first understanding the things that drive you (unconscious patterns, beliefs, habits, and mindsets) we’re able to guide and modify your inner workings towards a common goal. You’ll then learn to lean into your Zone(s) of Genius so you can manage yourself, your team, and your business more effectively. My goal is to support you in elevating the mindset you need to approach life as both an effective business leader AND an authentic human.

WHO I WORK WITH

I work with high achieving, coachable, emotionally intelligent founders and leaders.

WE MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF:

You’re comfortable being vulnerable and ready for more transformative growth.

You’re entering a new season of scale, challenge and growth.

You’ve achieved external success and are interested in more inner mastery and artistry.

You want to sustain high performance while feeling more fulfilled, seen, and supported.

Interested in working together?

Let’s chat to see if we’re the right fit. Setup an exploratory session.

I draw on experience as a founder, CEO and senior executive at a breadth of early- to late-stage companies to help you identify your blind spots and lean into your Zone(s) of Genius.

Experience and Philosophy

My experiences have taught me the power of living from a place of curiosity and possibility, continuously orienting toward a mindset of growth, expanded awareness and existing wholeness in ourselves.

 I coach with this mindset.

I believe you already have the seedlings of growth and greater capability that you need to thrive in this, and the next, chapter of life and work. We’ll achieve tangible, world-class results together, and along the way we’re going to adventure inward: cultivating deeper awareness and agency of the emotions and conditioning that influence your experience of the world.

Common Questions

  • I love working with founders and leaders whose companies are growing quickly or where they as a person are going through a change transition in their work, job or life. I work with founders and leaders in the tech/software field and also in other industries (I love the variety and pattern recognition amidst diverse contexts).

Almost all of my clients are CEOs or founders but I make exceptions on this when I can tell I’ll really enjoy working with someone and am confident I can be of high value to them.

I am not interested in working with clients who don’t already believe in the importance of “inner work” and the interconnectedness of how our inner worlds affect our outer world of behavior and work performance.

  • All of my sessions are virtual unless planned differently by exception. I prefer Zoom or some other format that includes video, as it allows me to pick up on non-verbal cues much better. I’m also happy to hold our sessions over the phone if you have a strong preference to do so but I ask that you are fully focused on our conversation regardless of the format.

I ask that clients find a relaxing, private, quiet space with reliable internet for our sessions so we can focus on the work instead of a distracting environment. Naturally, life happens and we’ll adapt to it.

  • Most sessions last 60 minutes. If we’re consistently hitting the 55-minute mark and feeling like there is more work to be done, we can extend the meeting structure ongoing to support that.

  • I meet with most of my clients regularly twice per month. Some clients, when going through particularly turbulent or hyper-change moments will meet more often, but it’s totally up to you. You can text or email me anytime as well, and I try to respond within 24 hours.

  • Most sessions follow the following structure:

    1. The Update: Usually there’s some progress since the last session that’s worth sharing. It can include anything you’ve learned, any changes in priorities or goals, new challenges, or anything like that.

    2. The Work: Pretty soon, you’ll begin to hear my voice asking, “What would you like to get out of today’s session?” After the update, in every session, we’ll declare a clear intention for what you’d like to work on. Sometimes this may be exploring a feeling of discomfort and other times you may want to complete a structured plan with concrete steps, but it’s up to you.

    3. The Wrap Up: When about 5 minutes are remaining, I’ll ask you some questions to help you synthesize your insights from our session and come up with a concrete way to apply what you’ve learned. We’ll also periodically set aside time for you to give me feedback at the end of a session.

  • My maximum is 15 clients at a time. Quality > Quantity for me.

  • Yes and no.

I do not have a fixed system. Each founder and leader brings a unique personality, situational context, relationships and background and I adapt how I work to each client and their goals. In my approach, I draw upon research and frameworks on how people change, transitions, interpersonal relationships, conflict management, recruiting, management, and much more.

One good metaphor that I heard from AndySparks.co for how to think about our work together is that coaching is a bit like Google Maps. In Google Maps, you have to understand where you are—where your blue dot is—how you got there, what you like about it and what you don’t. Then, you have to pick a destination. Once we’re clear on the here and the there, we can begin to work on picking a route and supporting you with whatever system, exercises, tools, frameworks, etc are helpful for that particular challenge and context.

  • Yes. While the core of our time together is on weekly or bi-weekly Zoom calls, I am available to my clients for emergency support via quick calls or text. You can text or email me anytime, and I try to respond to texts within 24 hours.

  • I don’t coach with a fixed structure. I recommend thinking of our coaching engagement in three-month sprints where we will usually meet every other week (~6 sessions), sometimes weekly in hyper-change, high-support situations.

In the first 1-2 sessions, we’ll set some goals for what you’d like to get out of our work together and then spend the following 4-5 sessions working on those goals. In a 7th session, we’ll do a retrospective, look back on the goals, and see if there’s anything you’d like to change about your goals or how we work together—at this point you should be able to unquestionably see progress and high value.

  • I don’t coach with a fixed timeline in mind. I have some clients I’ve worked with for a long time and others who I’ve only worked with for a few months.

Most clients, however, look for a right-fit coach who can support them for the next season (6 months or longer) vs. work with me for a one-time, short-term crisis.

  • Coaching starts at $2,000 per month.

I work on a sliding scale based on a number of factors including stage, revenue, meeting format (video or audio) and company size starting at $2,000 / mo. and moving up toward $5,000 / mo.

For the monthly fee, we’ll meet regularly twice a month.

If you’re really excited about working together and money is getting in the way of working together, let’s talk about it because I can usually work something out for a great fit client that I’m excited to work with.

  • If after an exploratory session both of us feel like there’s a great fit, a few things will happen:

    1. I’ll send a contract that includes a confidentiality clause.

    2. I’ll send an intake form. Expect to spend 30-60 minutes on this.

    3. We’ll schedule our first session.

    4. In our first session, we’ll discuss themes I found from your intake form, more of how I like to work with clients, and work on a top-of-mind issue present for you.

    5. We’ll meet via Zoom at a recurring time every other week, or sometimes every week as-needed.
